I've finally got round to assembling the Dead of Night 15 minute demo, including ready made characters and the quick start rules, for added convenience.

Feedback would be appreciated!

I've started this thread to link to the various reports that people have posted on the internet about their games of Dead of Night. If you post a report of your games, make sure you post a link to it here!

[Steampower] Q1 2008 sales figures

Andrew Kenrick's picture

I know I do this all too infrequently, but I really must try and post more as I think it's a useful datapoint for would-be publishers.

I think Q1 2008 has been a fairly lowpoint in terms of sales, shifting about half the usual number of copies of Dead of Night via IPR. I don't think it's a coincedence that Q4 2007 and Q1 2008 coincide with a decreased involvement by me online or at conventions all round, so I haven't been posting actual plays or commenting on threads about DoN anywhere near enough.

[Dead of Night] Project Lazarus at Concrete Cow

Scott ran Project Lazarus, his Dead of Night scenario, at Concrete Cow. It's a good scenario. I won't spoil it for you by giving you too many details.

Scott started it very atmospherically: we started play immediately, before creating the characters, with Scott telling us we'd been walking for hours and there was a light ahead of us. (The mood was then rather ruined by a bloke who joined late and made jokes, but that's another story.)

[Dead of Night] 2007 Q4 sales figures

Andrew Kenrick's picture

A little while back Malcolm posted up his sales figures for 2007 and I thought I'd do the same, for Q4 at least. My records are so spread out between different files and email accounts that it'll take a bit more rummaging to find the figures for the whole year. You can probably just times these by 4 and have a good guess!

Dead of Night Q4 2007

IPR: 14
Furnace: 3
Dragonmeet: 4
RPGNow (adventures only): 3

Total sales: 21 + 3

[Dead of Night] Dad's Army vs The Unspeakable Horror

Malcolm Craig's picture

After a week of camping in New Zealand's Northland, then rocking out at the Big Day Out and finally arriving almost straight from the airport, I found myself at Kapcon, Wellington's premier games convention. Part of my excitement at being there was due to the fact that i was scheduled to run a game I had been looking forward to for a long time.

The game was Dead of Night, using that wonderful little book to play out the terrifying story of...
