Online Games

I'm not a huge fan of online games, and I positively detest forum / browser based games, but games that use chat clients like MSN aren't so bad. OK it's still slower, but at least it's not like a forum where you could wait for days before someone responds, if they ever do, and everyone has to act in strict turn to keep things fair which leads to positively unnatural conversations at times. It's never going to beat tabletop, but in a land of no-tabletop-RPGs...

Let's play games on IRC

Hello Collective Endeavourists!

My name's Tom, I'm a Student at the University of Warwick, and I play indie roleplaying games. I do most of my indie roleplaying online, however, and mostly on #indierpgs on the MagicStar network.

Playing online works well (most of the time) and, while tending to be slower than face to face, has it's own charm in a number of ways. SO I'm pretty happy. Except! The channel is, in large part, packed solidly with AMERICANS.

Oh yes, Americans. The horror.....

... of having to stay up until 2am just to START games, half the time. Time difference sucks.
