One on one games are interesting, something that I've not really participated in to any great extent. Actually, I think the last time I was involved in a one on one game was in the Meadows Bar in Edinburgh with Mr J J Prince himself (and impromptu, Fighting Fantasy inspired, playing card based dungeon bash, as I remember). But that's tangential.

[P&P] Holy wrasslin aliens Buzz!

Well I’ve had a weekend of much role-playing for a change! Not one, not two but three games. And we even finished two of them.
PILEDRIVERS AND POWERBOMBS
We got stuck into some P&P Friday night. This was the first time I’d played using all the modifications from the Chokeslam of Darkness edition. As most of the group (everyone but me) had little to no interest in pro-wrestling we decided to mix things up and go with a sci-fi setting…
The year was 1969 and after landing on the moon, the astronauts found it inhabited by fighting aliens from all over the galaxy. NASA brought them back to earth and Deek Weasel, the head of NASA did the only sensible thing – started a wrestling promotion featuring extra terrestrials vs NASA’s finest.
[Contenders] Gladiators

So ever since the thread on the Forge about setting a game of Contenders in Renaissance France with competitive fencing, I've been mulling over an idea for running Contenders set in ancient Rome world with gladiators instead of boxers. I'm planning to run it at Conception, but am wondering whether the game can be run "as is."
The world of the gladiator was very much like the world of Contenders - gladiatorial combat was a sport, after all, albeit a far more brutal sport than boxing. So the basic structure of the game will stay the same, but I think that some consideration needs to be placed on this brutality.
