[Solipsist] 2008 Q1 and Q2 sales figures

David Donachie's picture

Gregor and I met last night to collate the 2008 sales figures for Solipsist now that Q2 is actually over (this was the first full quarter) and I am exceptionally pleased! In just 4 months we've covered all our printing and shipping costs for the entire run (including the test prints) and I'm only 1 sale short of covering the art costs as well! I wasn't expecting to reach this point till the end of the year, so needless to say I am over the moon! Next time someone buys something we are making genuine profit! :)

Anyway, here is the sales breakdown in detail

New Solipsist Website

Yes, Solipsist finally has a website!

On this website you will be able to find samples from the game, playtest materials, release schedules and more. Other stuff (links to AP threads, contributions and so on) will be coming soon.

Hopefully this will make it a lot easier for people to find materials for playtest, and I'll try and get up there most of the things that have been posted here in the past.

Go and have a look :)

[Best Friends] GenCon Sales

Gregor Hutton's picture

Hi All

I am back from the US and I thought I would share my GenCon sales data with you.

Best Friends: 28 sales.

This easily blew through my estimate of 20 sales. For comparison last year I did 37 sales (and 2 swaps).

It was a bit surprising. I think that the GamerChicksRule.com events and the cute buttons (in four colours) helped. The new cover design, where the title is all on one line at the top of the page, probably helped too.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that having a price on the book (like I do now) has a positive effect.

[Solipsist] First AP

OK, last night we had the first playtest of Solipsist (a game about bending reality), which I'm doing the layout for, as well as some art and, as it turns out, publishing. David Donachie is the guy who came up with the game and he's retaining full creator ownership of it.

The cover is a rather fetching green...

...and you can see it including the back-page blurb here.

[Best Friends] Review in Graffiti

West Virginia's leading alternative newspaper Graffiti (cirulation of over 100,000) reviews Best Friends.

Very positive and detailed review, thanks to Michael Erb who is also pushing it to RPGnet I believe. It also presents the game mechanics and content quite accurately.

Just in time for GenCon, I've had two reviews. Wow.

[Best Friends] Changes for the Fourth Printing

OK, the fourth printing of Best Friends is being done at the moment and the book should be available again in early August, then at GenCon.

For this printing, there are some big changes. The book is now physically 64 pages long rather than 48 as I have added an Appendix, which is freely available.

It also has a new, and more pink (!), cover, see the Best Friends page at http://boxninja.com/
