[CGS] Q1 2008 Sales Figures

CGS Sales, Q1 08

The first quarter of 2008 has, in many ways, been a very positive time for CGS. The release of the long-awaited Avenues & Alleyways supplement, plus the a|state PDF, gave the sales of our oldest product a real shot in the arm. Cold City sales are down slightly, going from an average of around 43 per month to 30 per month. However, this seems to be a natural trend and still represents healthy ongoing sales. The Companion also performs well, selling better than expected for a small supplement. The only disappointmet is the continued lacklustre performance of Mob Justice.

[Mob Justice] WarpCon 18

So, I'm slowly but surely getting around to posting up the games from WarpCon and next up to the plate is Mob Justice (leaving only a discussion about/demo of Spione, a playtest of zuzannah and the APs of Covenant and InSpectres to come).

Basically we got a strong request for a game of Mob Justice, which is great. Not a demo but something more like a game.

[Contested Ground Studios] 2007 Sales & Review

Malcolm Craig's picture

With the start of a new year comes reflection on the year gone by. In this case, it's reflection on how things have gone, sales wise, for Contested Ground Studios. 2007 saw the release of the full version of Mob Justice, the Cold City Companion and the Dossier (also for Cold City). Let's look at Mob Justice first.

[Mob Justice] Brothers in Arms at Dragonmeet

Iain McAllister's picture

So at dragonmeet I ran a four player session of ‘Brothers in Arms’. The scenario revolves around 4 brothers choosing how they are going to avenge the killing of their father. I had run this scenario twice at Furnace and both the games there were markedly different from the one at Dragonmeet.

The scenario begins outside the restaurant the boys have been having a family meal in. There father has been found dead in an alleyway just near the restaurant, shot in the head and stomach. In the distance sirens can be heard and they are getting closer. This is the kick off point for the game.

[Mob Justice] The end of Prohibition! Or is it?

Malcolm Craig's picture

This week, we're having a special promotion for Mob Justice, to coincide with the repeal of Prohibition! And here's the first press release:

Prohibition, an era of guns, gangsters, booze and showgirls. A time in American history that came to an end on December 5th, 1933. But what might the USA have been like if the Volstead Act had never disappeared?

[Mob Justice] So long, Milo Blue

OK, here is the AP of Mob Justice from GaelCon 2007.

I got 4 players who had signed up and they were all interested in playing and having a good time. We had two guys and two gals, and we were placed around a large table. (The table had been perhaps too big for some of the other, more intimate games, but was perfect for Mob Justice and much later in the weekend Umlaut.)

I briefly explained Mob Justice: modern-day Mobsters in an America where prohibition never ended. '20s cool in the 2000s. They really liked the hook and had a good idea of how they'd play their characters.
