[Stitch] Ethics or 'Go on you know you want to'

So over here I talk about the playtest I had down at Conception. Now it fell completely flat but was incredibly useful at showing me what Stitch is about and how to make that happen. Thanks again to all involved.

[Stitch] Stopping Skynet! (long)

So I managed to get in a playtest of Stitch while I was down at Conception and I had changed a lot since the first one. Here is a summary of the game as it stood at Spodely and the changes:

Overview
Stitch is basically ’12 Monkeys’ the roleplaying game. The characters a group of civilians and military personel sent back in time from a post apocalyptic world to change the past and alter the future.

[Stitch] Game Chef version

Hi guys,

I have updated the Stitch part of the site to include the Game Chef version of the game as a free download. Have a look at if you are interested where I am going with this. It is just about playable but is by no means complete.

I may have some B-movie news soon.

Cheers

Iain

[Stitch] It's all in the details

So I have been thinking about the replies I got from the other two posts and the concerns about the arbitary nature of the GMs interference in the mission. I was trying to resolve how I could make it seem less arbitary and I think I may have a solution, though I am kind of talking out loud here.

Planning
During the planning stage of the game, which may also be timed to keep things tight, the characters decide what events they are going to tackle and how.

[Stitch] How I'd do that central mechanic

Graham W's picture

So, here's two things that worry or intrigue me about the Stitch central mechanic:

1. Failure's too arbitary. Failure in the final seconds could be down to whether the GM brings in your doubt or not.
2. Connected to 1, I think it needs some drama, some sparkle. At the moment, success or failure is all down to adding numbers. Some randomness would add drama (or, failing that, something like Polaris' "But Only If..." mechanic).
2. I wonder if you could combine it with the whole Inconsistency mechanic?

Here's what I'd do, off the top of my head.
