In this thread a small storm broke out in a tea cup. It ended with apologies from both sides and a request to remove the thread.
Now, for the moment I've unpublished it (note NOT deleted it). I'm unclear on what policy we should have for the forum, so let's see what the body of opinion is here.

I was just pondering the website, and noticed that the 2 least used parts are the publisher forums and the design blogs.
This is good, in that it means that the other design forums are used far more, but equally I wonder what we should be using our own forums and blogs for? Do we need them? What should we be posting on them? How can we encourage them to be used far more productively and usefully?

This is a listing of threads that are felt to be of particular interest, both to newcomers to the site and to long-term members. They are a about a variety of different topics, but all are significant or valuable in some way. People should feel free to add threads that they feel meet this fairly loose criteria.
