[CGS] Q1 2008 Sales Figures

CGS Sales, Q1 08

The first quarter of 2008 has, in many ways, been a very positive time for CGS. The release of the long-awaited Avenues & Alleyways supplement, plus the a|state PDF, gave the sales of our oldest product a real shot in the arm. Cold City sales are down slightly, going from an average of around 43 per month to 30 per month. However, this seems to be a natural trend and still represents healthy ongoing sales. The Companion also performs well, selling better than expected for a small supplement. The only disappointmet is the continued lacklustre performance of Mob Justice.

[a|state] Avenues & Alleyways

I'm finally back from my wanderings around the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. One of the exciting things to happen while I was away was the release, finally of the long awaited supplement for a|state, Avenues & Alleyways.

I'm delighted that this is finally out there. It has lain fallow for long spells, been worked on, been set aside again, been the subject of much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Thanks to a whole bunch of people who knocked themselves out to get it into shape, it is now available and selling like hotcakes!

Let's look at Mob Justice first.

[a|state] Where is it coming from?

Over on the CGS forums, I got asked this rather interesting question:

It seems to be the trend now in the last few of years to include a statement of why the creator made the game, what themes it is exploring etc. etc.

[a|state] City Map, Community Tracking

So, I was thinking about how to track the development of communities in a|state. The current mechanics do nothing for this, that has been well documented. I was sitting in Midnight Espresso in Wellington, reading Grey Ranks. The grid caught my eye (as it does). And that started off a chain of thoughts...
