Last year at Conpulsion I ran a few talks about game design and game publsihing with help from Malcolm, John Wilson, Gregor and a mate of mine called Tim Fletcher. Shevy has asked me to run something similar again this year and I was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in helping out.
At the moment I am thinking of running it more as a workshop. So it would maybe consist of an hour or so talk about the basics of game deisgn, and then just helping people out with any ideas they have brought with them. This is similar in style to the ones run at Gencon which are always fun to attend.
Any thoughts, offers of help etc.?
Cheers
Iain

I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I'm happy to sit on a panel and spout shit! I can probably help with any questions about freelancing too, as I've done a fair bit of that

Here's another view on things:
Talks like this have gone on at the con for a few years now and are uniformly sparsely attended. This isn't disparaging to those who hold such session, it's just they don't seem to be a huge draw.
So, why have them? Why not to about this kind of stuff by playing games at the IGT? Engaging people at the CE stand? things like that. Would people get more value out of those kind of experiences, rather than sitting down in a room and getting one or two peoples views on games design?
I'd suggest we perhaps take a step back from seminars this year and look at how we can enthuse people about design through other means: play, informal chat, the 24 minute RPG contest and so forth.
These are my thoughts.
Cheers
