In the words of a former colleague of mine, I'd like to stir-fry a concept in the opinion wok.
I'd like to add some content to the CE, in the form of a series of interviews with people whom I think can give an interesting viewpoint on various aspects of games and gaming. I've a list of people whom I think would be good to interview (via email), and have already got the agreement of a couple.
Any objections or comments?
Cheers

I suppose the question is: How is this related the to CE Mission?
Not that I object to content, but I'd be careful of getting away from core activities. Would they be more appropriately placed elsewhere, or as part of the mooted 'zine?

If it were me arguing the point, I'd point out that part of the CE mission is making more people aware of the website's existence. Including articles such as interviews and the like, provided they remain in the Indie RPG arena of interest, might generate a little passing trade from search engines and could also be used as an advertising point to pimp the site on other forums. Treat it as free advertising and incentive for people to come look around the place, which could then lead them to taking a deeper interest in it.
There may also be other advantages depending on the focus of the interviews in question. For instance, maybe questions have been planned that explore each interviewee's approach to designing a game, or ask for interesting tips about doing so. That'd be valuable content to a site like this in my opinion.

I think any value added

I think any value added content is a good thing, drawing people to the site and giving fuel for useful discussions. Interviews could form a part of our fluid, hyperlinked zine.

I'd say that content such as this would be valuable in promoting discussion of various topics that are of interest in terms of play, design and publication. Although the forums are the core of the site (and an increasingly thriving one it is), I think that some extra content would help to attract further people to the discussions that are taking place.
To elaborate, my intention is not to do a "What games are you in to?" kind of interview, but to ask questions that take advantage of specialist areas of knowledge that each interviewee has. This could then filter down to discussion on the forums that would, I hope, be of benefit to all.
Well, that's my reasoning anyway.

I think it sounds like a fine plan Malcolm, who did you have in mind for the first interviews?
It would be a good way to pull people to the site and make them aware of the collective endeavour and its goals.

Well, my first three interviewees were going to be:
Julia Ellingboe, designer of 'Steal Away Jordan'
Steve Hickey, New Zealand film director, script writer and gamer
Per Fischer, renaissance man and our Danish Ambassador here on the forums
With a different angle and topic for each interview.
