[Mob Justice] Brothers in arms

This is my idea for my Furnace game, thoughts and feedback welcome. Again it focuses on a tightly woven group with lots of loyalties and codes to play off and a single objective to focus them.

Furnace Game

Brothers in arms

A ‘Mob Justice’ game for up to 4 players

Your father and mother came to America looking for a new life with their sons and daughter. Looking for hope. At first they had a good life, establishing themselves in the Irish quarter of Chicago and setting up a small pub that attracted everyone from the local drunks to minor celebrities.

Then the mob moved in.

Destroying or ‘protecting’ every Irish owned business in Chicago, Don Perelli and his goons soon saw to it that the Irish knew their place. Your father was the only one to resist, the only one to fight back. After countless threats, numerous attacks and investigations by corrupt police and officials he stood his ground, giving nothing to those he saw as running what America could be.

The mob’s offer was always one he couldn’t refuse.

The phone wakes you all that dreadful morning. Your father is dead, found floating in the Great Lakes that he loved so much, a single bullet wound to the head. A professional hit. Your mother’s life has been destroyed, your father is dead and his business is about to be bought up by the bastards that put him in the river.

You and your siblings are all that stand between the mob and your father’s business. Your families pride, their honour, their very lives are at stake.

What you going to do about it?

Cheers

Iain

Oh!

That's a kick start!

I like it and I think it will work great for a con game. (Or even a free downloadable scenario pack.)

Oh, have you ever read "The Story of Lola Martin"? It occurs to me that it would fit in real well to a Mob Justice game.

It gets a surprising amount of hits for something so old, but I then found out a po*nstar named herself Lola Martin years after the scenario was published.

I will check that out

I will check that out Gregor, thanks very much. I am going to work on this scenario and try and run it a couple of times before the con. I really am looking to produce a few scenario packs and think I might be on to something with this.

Cheers

Nice scenario, I'm impressed

Nice scenario, I'm impressed by the way it both motivates the players and binds them together at the same time. Family seems like a natural theme for Mob Justice, and Irish families, well, they've gotten a pretty hard time in the American past. These days, less so, but its still a stereotype which exists.

Lemme know how it pans out. Or even better, if you want a player to help test it, I promise to be happy and positive next time!

My life has been mega busy

My life has been mega busy of late so I am hoping to get the scenario finished over this weekend and tested at least once before I go to furnace. I would be delighted to test it with yourself and others shevy. I blame myself for what happened last time around. Think I'm learning though.

Cheers
