Concrete Cow 07½: 29 September

Neil Smith's picture

Hi folks! Just a reminder that Concrete Cow is just over a month away. I know that several of you are planning to attend, for which I will be eternally grateful. If you are coming and plan to run a game, let me know and I'll put the details on the website. That should get us some more publicity for the day, and get you some people in for your games.

(Concrete Cow is a one-day mini-con held in Milton Keynes on 29 September. We do one every six months or so, and people seem to have a good time. See this thread for some comments on last time.)

Thanks,

Neil.

Neil,

I'm hoping that I can make it this time, the last couple have been great!

If I do manage to get there, I'll be running a game of Agon. And yes, I'll use my Lego.

I'm coming! But just during

I'm coming! But just during the day as I have a birthday thingy in the evening.

I want to run something and play something - the thing I want to run is Bliss Stage. The thing I want to play is either Scott's PTA or Agon.

I'll be there too!Rich, do

I'll probably run something, not sure what.

Rich, do you have Lego to build Mechs?

I do, and meny mechs were built. Then I moved house and they all got shoved in a box and fell apart.

Good stuff! I'm up for a game of Bliss Stage if it's being run. Keep the games coming!

In late-breaking news, we have a third Guest of Honour, Stewart Wilson. As well as doing a whole bunch of stuff for White Wolf, he's also just released his own indie RPG, Æternal Legends, a game of modern fantasy. He'll be running some games of it at Concrete Cow.

Only a month to go!

Neil.

Looks like one of my gaming group, Tim Partridge, might be offering to run Questers of the Middle Realms (probably the little scenario in the rulebook).

I'll let him make the formal request to go on the programme, but he did ask about taking some of my small stock of printed books down to make available, and we weren't sure what the options would be for selling stuff. Neil?

This is just going on what

Andrew Kenrick's picture

This is just going on what last time was like, but there isn't any sort of trade stand. I let my group of players know I had books with me, and sold a copy of Dead of Night to one of them, but it was really just about playing. So don't let him bring many!

As Andrew said, there's no

As Andrew said, there's no hard-and-fast position on commerce. If someone's got some books to sell, feel free to bring them along and try your best to inflict them on your fellow gamers. I'd be delighted if people wanted to slot some short demos into the gaps between games (cos then I'd get to try them out).

And if you're planning on running a game, let me know and I'll put the blurb on the website. There's nothing as formal as a 'programme' for the day.

Neil.

I think I'll run Bacchanal

Graham W's picture

I'd put it on the website, but it won't let me in.

When is everyone planning on running their games? I'd like to run Bacchanal in the afternoon: sex in the morning is...um...well, look, anyway, I'll run it in the afternoon. I'm assuming people won't generally stay for the evening session?

I've got to dash off to a birthday party after the second slot, so I won't be about.

I was waiting to see when other games I might want to play in were running before I scheduled Bliss Stage, but I was vaguely considering it for the morning slot.
