Hi All
I am back from the US and I thought I would share my GenCon sales data with you.
Best Friends: 28 sales.
This easily blew through my estimate of 20 sales. For comparison last year I did 37 sales (and 2 swaps).
It was a bit surprising. I think that the GamerChicksRule.com events and the cute buttons (in four colours) helped. The new cover design, where the title is all on one line at the top of the page, probably helped too.
Anecdotal evidence suggests that having a price on the book (like I do now) has a positive effect.

Good numbers!

I knew that new cover would grab folks.
My IPR grapevine indicates that Covenant sold 5 copies, which ain't too bad considering I wasn't even there...

IPR...

...EndGame in San Francisco has ordered Best Friends twice this month (that's two big orders in the two weeks either side of GenCon). On the back of that Best Friends has now just squeezed into the Top 20 selling books on IPR.
I'm very happy with that. Yes, indeed. It's the first time it's been up there and it's taken a long while to get there.
I'm hoping that means two things: (1) the first order sold out and that's why they had to re-order, and (2) retailers are finding that it's something they're confident in selling and want to sell.
I think it also shows that the book has "legs". Other games that sold well at GenCon in year 2 on the Forge booth were the Roach and Hero's Banner. I think that's good company. Taking in other booth book's we were up there with Shock: and Cold City. Again, good company to keep.
Buttons...

Oh, I need to do an accurate count of my buttons... but given that I had 4 bags of 125 buttons, and I now only have 1 bag of mixed buttons, I think I have managed to distribute about 300+ buttons for Best Friends while at GenCon.
They are very cute and, more importantly, make great friend-chips for playing with.
I had them in 4 colours: light pink, bubblegum pink, neon pink and fuschia.
Having taking a sampling of people's thoughts at GenCon I think I will go with bubblegum pink as the colour for future buttons.
And, finally, there was a desire for "Stabbity Girl" to be on a button as well as "Cool Girl". So I will do that too.
You can see the light pink buttons in this pic.
