Sorry, that was very slack of me wasn't it.

Conception takes place just outside Christchurch, in New Milton on the south coast, from wed 30th january to sunday 3rd february. Entrance is free, and accomodation is about £200 per LODGE (which sleeps about 4 in absolute luxury) so is eminently affordable.

I think I've filled one lodge already, but I'm tempted to just book 2 or 3 for us all, if people are vaguely interested.

It is my favourite convention, and is super friendly and fun with LOTS of games running throughout the weekend and LOTS of enthusiastic gamers. By LOTS I mean about 300-500 gamers.

It is NOT a sales convention though. People go to Conception to play, not to buy, which we discovered last year. The way to sell at Conception is to run games. Lots of games.

I'd like to see sessions of all our games running, as well as things like Dogs, Mortal Coil, PTA, Cat and whatever else we can rustle up. If we can get something, anything running in every slot, I'll be a happy bunny.

People WILL buy stuff at Conception, but mainly if they've played it and enjoyed it.

Go there to play and to have fun! It's the polar opposite of Dragonmeet in a lot of ways. You'll increase awareness of your game if you run it and yeah, that'll lead to a small number of sales but also to AP posts and general chatter about the game.

As a side note, if anyone wants to fly down from the frozen north, I live about 10 minutes drive from Southampton Airport and folks are welcome to blag a lift to the site with us if they want. Or come down the day before and crash at my place the night before if that's easier.

You know I'll be there Andrew and one of the chalet slots had better be reserved for me ;o)

I'm going to say "No" from me. I will be in Cork, Ireland just before that for Warpcon so that precludes me going to Conception.

Andrew and I have booked 2, 3 room lodges between us. That's two lodges like the one Andrew et al had last year. They're very spacious and have one double and two twin rooms IIRC. So they could sleep 5 people each, or 6 if two of them are a couple.

I know Geoff, Jan, Dave are pretty much already booked into beds there somewhere. Plus Andrew, Claire and I, that makes one double and four single beds available right now.

Cost for each lodge is £210 IF IT'S PAID FOR BY THE END OF NOVEMBER! Which is, frankly, fuck-cheap, it works out at about £40 per head. After November it does up.

Count me in Andrew, I seem to have booked time off over that weekend. How forward thinking of me.

Will cook up a list of games to play. Are we talking published only, or are playtest versions ok?

I'm not sure yet. We did run a rudimentary playtest camp last year but didn't give it much time, so I wouldn't be averse to running some more playtests this year. I'd like it mostly to be complete games though.

We have one table (but obviously there are other tables too which you can put a sign up sheet for) and about 11 slots to fill over 4 days. I don't really want to run more than 1 or 2 things a day.

Oh, for the record, I can pretty much count on taking up 5 of the beds so far (me, Dave, Geoff, Jan and maybe my brother Rob). I might be able to tempt two of my other group down too, but we'll see.

I imagine things will book up fairly quickly, but if we get enough committment we might need to book a 3rd lodge!

Apparently there are lots of 3 room lodges and 2 room chalets still available though.

I think my chalet is full regardless - I'll definitely have one of Rob or Gaz (my GM up here). If I have both, we'll sort out an air bed or sommit.

I'll ask Graham whether he's interested too. I guess if we go beyond those 10 then someone will have to step up and book a 3rd lodge!

I've booked in with Richard who runs the board games selling table (up in the corner of the raised bit) again, so I'll be there and my accomodation is already sorted out. I'm also hoping to run a lot more games this time, as last time I seemed to mostly play whatever Sctott or Rich were running!

Oh, sorry. Yes, I'd probably be up for this.

So by my reckoning that's both lodges filled! Hurrah! We can fly the banner on the outside of one of them :-)

So, next - to games. Who has a hankering to help me run indie games at our demo table? I'll certainly run some Dead of Night and Cold City, and I'd like to try to run some Inspectres and DitV.

So, anyone else? I'd like to fill as many slots as possible with indie games, and not necessarily our own.

After the minicon last weekend I appear to be honour bound to run at least one game of Agon. So I'd better run at least two so someone other than Mick Red's Portsmouth posse can play! Yes, there will be Lego.

Other than that, I reckon another Umlaut game from me plus whatever I'm running at the time. Hopefully I will have a copy of Mob Justice by then (hint hint).

It's well worth us posting something on the conception forum about what we're planning to run. There has been a lot of interest in indie stuff there.

{edit} - I've just seen that MJ is available from CG now. So unless there is a catastrophe, I'll have a copy and may very well be up for running it.

I'll happily do something. Lacuna is my new favourite game of the moment.

Would you want to do Collective Endeavour games or any indie game?

Any indie games. Hell, any games really. I just want lots of fun games running at our table, which will bring folks over and get a good buzz going.

Plus I'm really greedy and want people to run games for me :-D Hence why I was hoping that Rich would offer Agon and Graham would offer Lacuna :-D

Whilst I'm fishing for games - I'd love someone to run some MJ, as well as Scott to run some of his patented awesomeness, otherwise known as PTA and Mortal Coil.

Oi stokes, no! Seriously though i would be happy to run MJ, though would love to see rich's take on it as well. Reel Adventures, which is going through a design crisis, should be available as well so I will run that. More may come to mind.

Now what is the plan obviously only one game per slot can run at the table
Can CE commit to say 3 different indie games per slot??
If so that would be awesome. Lads from my club are running Cold City scenarios themselves this year and we are also running a fair bit of DitV.
Conception is only 4 months away and some form of event list per slot may well help
if posted to the con forum.
Dissapointing to see that Malc wont be there, however its a lot better than last year with just Andy working his ass off

BTW Rich i want at least 2 Agons this time not just 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure we can commit to running 3 games in every slot! That'd be about 30 games! But we'll certainly have at least 1 in every slot, so that's something! Hopefully people will know that if they want something indie, they're guaranteed to get it every slot at our table!

I'm hoping to play some stuff this year, so I'd be interested in joining other people's Cold City games!

Fuck, man, that's a challenge. I'd really like to do that. Can we? Can we?

Well we only have 1 table, but if we coordinate with the con organisers we can set up games as normal in the hall.

I'm not sure I'm physically able to run a game in every slot, but the others might be :-)

Rich wants paying I think, by December. I've got my lot covered.

I mean back-to-back indie games, about an hour long. I'd love that.

Anyone who's coming and wants a bed in my lodge:

I need to pay for this before the end of November or something. If you're coming and are going to be at Concrete Cow this weekend, giving me money then is going to be the easiest thing. Otherwise you're going to have to post cheques and I hate having to bugger about with shit like that.

Ok Andrew aside any other game authors going?
Conception has recently won the UK's best convention award (4th year running) on
UKRoleplayers and the CE team need to take advantage of this!!!! The con has also
sold out for accom so expect in excess of 500 attendees this year

Me and Iain are going, and we're currently published authors! Rich and Graham are going too and I imagine by then they will also have books out!

But regardless of all that, we will be running a full schedule (as in a game in every slot) of indie games across all 4 days, which I think is rather splendid myself!

I am hoping to have my card game out by then and hopefully reel adventures, though we will have to see how the next few playtests go. I am a bit behind on development as the last two months have been crazy busy for me and I got a bit distracted.

Do I owe someone money at the moment? I can sort it out with Andrew this weekend.
