If anyone spots me on that forum in future, perhaps they might venture a gentle suggestion as to whether I really want to be so far from home.
There's that point where you really get to know a forum, you know?
And if anyone brings that stuff over here I *will* hurt them.

OK, I think I know the thread you are referring to and can see where it's annoyed you. You've always been very polite and understanding in an online forum I've seen you in, so it's easy to see how some remarks might have got to you. However, I for one am way less than keen about the idea of issues with one message board (SG) being brought over to another message board (here).
edit: I've also shifted this to Administration, as I don't think it's really a Games Design issue.

Actually, there is a general point there too about this forum's realtionship with other forums and sites.
I feel comfortable with linking to other sites and saying "here is a good thread about X, you should read it" and "for info on Y, see this other site", where I may link to an external website, forum or community (say The Forge, RPGnet, StoryGames, RPGnow, whatever).
However, I cannot bear it when someone drags a thread/disagreement across several fora. If someone has a problem with someone on one particular forum, then I'd like it if they kept it there.
So, I would be livid if anyone dragged a thread that upsets Tim to this forum. I'd prefer if we have disagreement here that we keep them here, and if we have disagreements elsewhere then we keep them elsewhere.

..thats my opinion as a browser and occasional poster here.
I've seen too many 'bad threads' spill over into other forum, often simply because someone not even involved in the original disscussion posts it elsewhere.
Would it be worth adding the points that Malc and Greggor have made to any community/forum guidelines the CE have?

...I'm glad you brought this up actually as it's probably something we needed to talk about here.
In my opinion the majority of forums (not just RPGs) have been getting snarkier and more heated recently (maybe that's just my impression) without actually breaking into flamewars and open insult (which were more commonly avoided/spotted in the past). And it's affecting the level of discourse on forums.
So, yeah, I hope that we keep to charitable reading together with honestly given feedback and comment here. It's a shared community here, y'know?
