I've been looking through some Drupal mods and themes at http://www.drupal.org
For modules we might want to check out "flatforum" to see if it makes them any more usable.
I don't know about themes but I thought we might be able to find something workable that just needed th "branding" changed. Something like "Barron" looked clear: http://barron.sp0ke.net/
Um, maybe we can ask for people to find themes that might look OK?

Flatforum looks interesting. It is still a dev module though, some of those can do unexpected things, I'll go over it and do some checks.
Themes wise, now I've had some time I've been working on a better theme that meets our new needs (as opposed to our perceived needs as of 6 months ago).

I'm a total n00b to Drupal, so I look foward to the new theme. Yeah, our needs have changed greatly since this site was put up quickly.

Since Ive got a day off today, I'm taking a look at flatforum.
What I want is a module for making the paging better (ie top as well as bottom), which I may have to end up writing myself.

I like the look of the site,

I like the look of the site, but agree that the forums could use a bit more easy functionality, and more similarity to other forums people are used to. And the current setup is a bit prone to the same problem as many Livejournal themes: bits of the page getting pushed out of their proper place in the layout, presumably because sizings aren't quite worked out.
