Policies and Decision Making

Thought I should spin this off from the various topics on where we go now. One thing that has been raised is how we decide on new policies and resolve potential disputes.

I consider us all equals, but it is likely there may be changes needed at some point that we don't all agree on. So do we have some kind of voting system for this, if so who gets to vote? Do we want to use the loyalty points idea in this?

I would personally be in favour of just a simple voting system, each member getting a vote. This may however get too unwieldy as we grow.

Cheers

Loyalty Points

Hi Iain, since the very simple concept of Loyalty Points at cons seems to be growing legs with every post can everyone see the clarification here?

I want to see big decisions being debated and a consensus being reached. The name of the game should be mature debate, compromise and finding common paths forward.

I'd like to think that we'd listen to each other and find common ground more often than not. If we do that then we'll find that voting becomes somewhat irrelevant -- as a common way forward will emerge.

Anyone?
