Totally self-aggrandising first post in this thread. I've been doing some more exploration recently, and the results can be seen on my LJ:
Coalbed Methane, Ltd - a pretty wrecked old industrial site.
Lathallan House - a gutted and dilapidated Baronial stately home.

In light of our own stakes discussions, I thought this post by Levi about Stakes That Rock was good.

Ron Edwards gives a detailed history of game play styles. Essential reading.

Over at the Tavern, one of the regulars expresses his concern over the current crop of indie games, prompting much discussion.

Initially sounds like fairly typical axe grinding to me, but actually I think there's some value in that thread.
Like:
"GM isn't acting like a twat" vs "system does not permit the GM to act like a twat"
"GM reveals the secrets and the story to the players" vs "Everyone at the table creates the story together and there aren't necessarily any secrets"
"These people think their games are better than mine, therefore they think they are better than me" vs "Some people aren't happy with traditional games and like theses weird games more"
"Hippy games don't support ongoing campaigns for more than a few sessions at a time" vs "Long term play is not the be-all-and-end-all of roleplaying"
"Ron Edwards runs The Forge like an tyrant and his moderation policy is fickle and unfathomable" vs... er, well, Darran does have a point there.
It's a pretty reasonable argument really. I've had similar arguments (from the opposite side) on Story games where someone has pretty much said "any game with GM fiat is doomed to be shite because..." and, well, we all know that's not really true.
