Just wandered over to the GenCon UK site. There does seem to be some actual content there now. Idly glanced at trade stand prices, and as the early bird offers have gone a basic table is now £450!! There can't be many outfits in the industry that'll go for that. Looking at that and the admission fees, they seem to be pricing themselves out of the market.
Am I right in thinking that you guys hadn't been convinced enough to get a stand before?

I really wanted to go and support GenCon this year, but at those prices we simply can't afford to.

We're not going. It's too close to our return from Gen Con US - we're driving back, as far as NYC anyway. It's a bit harder after that.
I thought another SteveCon might be a good idea, depending on the level of baulking.
