As for a truism ... what could you do with "respect your elders" in Covenant?

A truism in this context is something you once thought true, but that is now in doubt. Play is about resolving that doubt in either direction (you get neat rewards for doing so).
So I'd want at least one NPC in your Crucible who was your elder and you previously respected. Then we frame some scenes that might resolve in a negative or positive way.
Your old mentor, he just betrayed you to a rival faction. Still believe "elders should be respected", now?

I'd want lots of authority figures in your crucible to play with, either in the Faction or Society region.
A scene in which you discover your superiors knew the truth all along would seem like a good place to start...
