One of the things you can do in Reel Adventures is to create a pitfall which is later to be overcome. this could be something like a deep chasm, a horde of bad guys or merely getting by the guard on the door. These pitfalls are ranked from 1-5 showing how hard they are to defeat.
Taking a leaf out of DON's book, providing Andrew doesn't mind, I want to be able to give these pitfalls properties that reflect action films. So far I have two:
Wave: which means the pitfall stays around for longer as wave upon wave of bad guys keep on coming.
Relentless: which means the pitfall, which is usually a person, turns up every act even if the heroes thought he was dead.
I would appreciate any other ideas as I appear to be having a bit of writer's block over these at the moment.
Cheers
Iain

How about something

How about something like:
Treacherous: when the pitfall first appears it is in the guise of an ally or otherwise helpful circumstance.
Private Demons: the pitfall only effects a single character.
What sort of mechanical effect does a pitfall have?
These are less mechanical

These are less mechanical than I was thining but fantastic ideas none the less. Consider them added for a playtest or two.

Let's see... False Death:

Let's see...
False Death: Just after you think they're dead, they'll rise again for one last attack (as in Terminator, Fatal Attraction, etc). Slightly different from Relentless, I think.
Chain Reaction: Overcoming this pitfall causes another, more serious, pitfall (like killing a James Bond villain causes his base to self-destruct).
Escape: You'll never really overcome this pitfall. It'll disappear just at the moment you thought you'd overcome it.

Love 'False Death', it is different from 'Relentless', and 'Chain Reaction'. Escape bares a lot of resemblence to Relentless but i think I see what you are driving at.
Keep em coming.
