Over on story games, I saw this thread about indie games sales at DunDraCon.
There were soom good sales going on there, but absolutely none for any of the UK small-press titles. Zero. So, I postsed a quick query as to why people think this might be. Probably best to nip over to the thread in question if you have any thoughts on the matter.
What is raised in my mind was this: how can we improve sales at US cons? Do we need to incentivise people to run or demo our games? How can we encourage fellow members of the community to support our efforts?
Just a few notions to mull over.
Cheers
Malcolm

Well I imagine something

Well I imagine something good to do would be to swap demos, so that we might demo some of our US compatriots' games over here, and they return the favour. I'm fairly sure Fred Hicks offered to run games for people if they ran SotC at cons he wasn't at. Something similar might work.

It would be interesting to see what the flip side of that story is i.e. how do US indie games sell at cons over here. I am thinking we might see the same trend.
Andrew's idea of swapping demos is pretty good. Are there any rpg shops that go to lots of the cons in the states?

Dude, they sold a copy of Contenders!
I think it was an oversight in the original post that was edited later.
Yeah, reciprocal demoing seems a good way to go. Whether to rely on the osmosis of mutualism or have formal exchanges though?
Hmmm. I reckon there's room for a bit of both.
If all else fails we could deploy The Craig on his world tour of kicking ass and taking names.

"Sir, sir! Sales are down in the US sir, they're just not buying our games!"
"Not buying..? Then we're left with no choice. Break out... 'The Craig!'"
