This Paranoia LARP

1. LARPs work well if you divide the players into factions. Secret Societies are probably the way to go with this: tell the PCs to contact other members of their secret society, then give them an objective to complete together.

2. When I did the Meat Loaf LARP, one thing that worked well was bike races: the racers held up cards to say what they were doing ("I'm kicking Big Jake off his bike") and the spectators decided who pulled ahead and who fell behind. There were three races, one every hour, and they gave structure to the LARP.

Perhaps something similar would work: maybe a FunBall competition or something? (FunBall is the official Paranoia sport)

3. Paranoia crosses really well with Cthulhu. Perhaps a secret society could be trying to raise an Old One. Or something.

Anything else to throw into the pot?

For me, LARPs have always

For me, LARPs have always been about the personal goals and the factions, with only a think semblance of a plot laid over the top. The more the action and fun is player driven, the easier it is for you, and also the more satisfying it is for the players.

Yes, absolutely. Things like

Yes, absolutely. Things like regular bike races or Fun Ball competitions can give a nice high-energy kick to the game, but it's important that the game doesn't become about those events.

Or you can give goals to people that are connected to the competitions (e.g. "Replace the Fun Ball with an explosive device") but that aren't explicitly about winning.

I'm really getting into this Fun Ball idea. Maybe it could be called "Let's Get Ready To FunBall".
