Furnace 08 Sales

Hi Guys.

Sorry it took me a few days to get round to posting these, I know you are usually eager to see how the stall went.

We manned the stall on day 1 in the morning and afternoon slots, but came to realise it was a bit pointless as everyone was taken up with games most of the time. For sunday we just had whoever was running a game near the stall keep an eye on it, but most of the business was between slots anyway.

So the numbers are:

Day 1

3:16 (2)
Cold City (2)
Hot War (3)
B-Movie (3)
Duty & Honour (7)
Play Unsafe (3)

Day 2

Mob Justice (1)
Duty & Honour (2)
Dead of Night (1)

Retail (These all went to Jim of Patriot Games)

Cold City (1)
Duty & Honour (6)
Swansong (2)
Play Unsafe (1)

Second day was a lot quieter, but quite a lot of people went home about lunchtime. Duty & Honour was the clear winner with 13 sales, and it is a good looking book. I like the format a lot and will post some photos as soon as I have them sorted out.

The total for the two days was £351 which is about £70 - 80 up on last year, i will need to double check that.

Very good all in all, and it would be great to see more of us there next year running even more indie game.

Cheers

Iain

I was pleased with the stall

I was pleased with the stall too - it's our second year there and people seem to have got used to us being there already, eagerly anticipating what we'll have on sale! We seemed to have a bit more space this year too, which helped.

We would have easily sold a few more 3:16s I reckon, but we only had 2 copies (one of which was meant for Neil, but I sold that before I realised - sorry!), both of which sold within about 10 minutes of us setting up.

We had a strong showing of games too, most of which run fully booked (with the exception of Six Bullets, I think, which was running in the final slot where half the games didn't run). The only way to run more games next year would be to expand to another table too, as ours was full most of the con.

Good show!

Excellent!

It was nice to see you all again and I'm glad that you topped last year's figure.

Couple of points from Andy's post

- if you want another table, let me know in advance. I'd also need a strong commitment up front to populate second table. There are tables on the Upperdeck which at present are underused which you could snag.

- if people are anticipating your arrival, would you like to some pre-order? We have a list of all attendees and Graham regularly sends out an email with upates. This was done at Continuum for all the Gloranthan Swag that was on offer there (in fact they did a mega bundle for preorders where you got one of everything on offer for a £5 discount).

7+2+6=15, not 13. Honestly....

And I had 1 more sale via cheque as well, which took things to 16 in total. That was one copy away from selling out, which was exceedingly gratifying.

I think we could easily have moved a load of 3:16 as well. The two that were there moved so fast it was silly.

Good stuff

Newt - I don't think we'd want another table, we'd just add games to the main schedule as and when required I guess!

I want a table. It'll be called the Graham Table. It'll be dedicated to me and my games, but mostly to me. There would be a big photograph of me on it.

Graham Walmsley: the Collective Endeavour's booth babe.

;-)

As the other Graham I'd demand a Wordplay presence, but I wouldn't be able to eclipse your photograph.

For the sake of future clarity when reviewing sales, can we keep this thread to the discussion of the stall and sales at Furnace 08.

Sorry Neil, my bad. I

Sorry Neil, my bad.

I second Andy's comment, let us keep this thread about the money only and related comments. Thank you.
