Well in preparation for the upcoming Furnace I've booshed together a slightly updated ashcan of Monkey - which I'm calling the Cheeky Monkey edition.
Couple of reasons why
1. I've had several requests for updated rules so people who played and enjoyed it at Continuum can playtest it with their home group.
2. As a externalising of internal milestone. This is pretty much the rules as they stand, bar polishing and elaboration. I'm very happy that they work as written and that I'm way past the need to do major surgery to them. Now I can concentrate on getting all the source setting material into the book.
3. As a fun marketing thing - having the ashcan on the CE stall last time out did bring an extra bit of buzz around the game.
Quick note: if you want to get a copy of this let me know in advance, because I'm only doing five copies at five pounds each.

In the sense of vindication, since most of my sales came after the game.
But as a 'I'm putting this out and part of you buying it is that you'll give me usefull playtest data' nah.
That might have something to do with the fact its still the incomplete game, just the rules some light flavour text and a adventure (Cheeky Monkey also has six pregens). I know from experience that I'm more likely to comment on a complete game rather than a partial one [but I'll save these thoughts for my big 'Playtesting' post I'll do after Furnace]
