We all do it.
We all go searching on Google for mentions of our games on fora and so forth. Not only does it allow us to see what people are saying about our games, it also allows us to contact those people, give them help, feedback or simply offer thanks for purchasing and playing the game.
This is where Google Blog Alerts come in. You may already be familiar with them. You may already be using them. If not, you should be. It's an immensely useful tool for talking directly to people who are playing and purchasing you game.
So, if you;re not using them, go to Google Blog Search, use the advanced search feature and plug in your search terms. Then, when the results for those terms come up, you can set up a daily alert to your email from the left hand sidebar. easy as that and well worth doing.
And it's one of the things we in the small press community excel at: making contact with those people who have spent their money our games. This gives another tool to make that contact easier and more extensive.

Thanks Malcolm! I knew about the normal alert, which I already use, but not the Blog one.

Can you not just use the 'Comprehensive' and/or 'Blog' function in standard Google Alerts to achieve the same thing? The email function of Blog Search sends you through to Google Alerts and sets it to Blog. Or have I missed something crucial?
It is a very interesting tool. I have since discovered that Duty & Honour is one of the phrases that comes up almost every day when discussing the Spetnaz! And yes, Neil Gow is a famous scottish fiddler. Eventually it will come up with something useful when the game is released or before.
