Yes, believe it or not, I am on the cusp of sealing the deal on getting B-movie printed. Woohoo. I have a few final layout things to do including come blab for the back of the box, but I am hoping that I will have it for Games Expo. I will start another thread about the box text, as I would like some thoughts on that.
If anyone else wants to get a card game done, I have a lot of stuff layed out for the group I am using, Guild of Blades Publishing.
I can give you card layout and rules layout for indesign.
Cheers
Iain

Yeah, I'm looking at getting some books done through Guild of Bladestoo. It looks like they have a nice setup there. Hopefully they won't be too inundated with stuff to fill both our orders in time :) Congrats on getting it done though!

Samples

I saw the samples of their cards at Iain's last week and I think they look great. I think this will be a big hit at UKGE.
Great stuff!

Can you post some photos of the sample cards? To photobucket or flickr or somewhere?
I have an idea for Lost Gods and art print cards and I'm wondering if the quality of the GOB cards would be good enough...

I wont have samples of my cards until I actually have the product, I have a sample from the printers they are using. If you go to the link I provided above there are some pictures. I can send you the sample I got if you like. I don't really need it anymore. Their minimum order is quite a lot if you want very small numbers.
As soon as I have cards in my hands you can guarantee I will be posting pictures up all over the joint. If you go to the GB website you can see what they are going to look like.

That's great news Iain! I know what all my gaming friends are getting for christmas this year.
Would you be prepared to share some prices with us? I know you've talked in the past about the expenses of card printing and the bulk you'd have to order them in. What sort of numbers are you printing?
The money question
Submitted by Iain McAllister on Wed, 02/04/2008 - 11:18.
Oh I suppose I can divulge that information Kenrick.
I am getting 100 decks printed with 63 cards in each. These cards will be full colour, CMYK, front and back and will have a black and white rules insert. I am also getting full colour tuck boxes printed.
The cost of the printing is $455.50 which is about £230. Shipping is going to be in the region of $108 bringing the total to $563.50 or £284.42.
Comparing to the last place I was looking at:
500 decks at £1300 pound.
Obviously per deck cost is higher but outlay is smaller, which was kind of the point.
Quality of the printing seems good and stock is great. Only drawback is I have to put everything together my end, they send cards, tuck boxes and rules seperated.
Communication has been excellent and Ryan seems like a really solid guy. He is going to be up and running by Thursday so I am going to be putting my order in very soon, possibly by the end of next week.
I will keep you guys updated.
Cheers
