[Hot War] Tired of waiting for my missing player

hey, firstly an apology to Malcolm. I've been waiting and waiting for all of my players to be available to carry on the playtest game, but literally not once since the first session has everyone been free at once. Now Stu seems to have completely changed his shift pattern at work and is busy every... well, all the time as far as I can tell, so I'm putting out a call for a new player/group.

As an addition to that, does anyone who has played How War (or Cold City, actually, since I had a previous game fall apart for exactly this reason) have any ideas as to how to play an extended story arc for ether of these with missing players? Both games are so heavily dependent on the input of the players; in Hot War especially, half or more of the plot is provided by the players during the initial session.

I had been working on ideas to make the game cover 2 sessions, maybe three, but with that time frame I didn't really feel I could miss out the scenes that people had specifically asked for, and the big personalised plot revelations, just because they weren't there. And after the gamegen session, I didn't really feel I could make it anything other than a game of personal plot revelations and personal scenes.

So yeah, can I get a new player please, and what should I do if a player goes missing?

Cheers for any assistance youse guys can give; I would have liked to have had this over and done with a month ago so I could think about joining the Conpulsion-goers and run a game, but I just wasn't confident enough without the session complete.

What night you running

At the moment its supposed to be Sunday afternoons, 1 til 5. I'll have to talk to the other guys and see if they're available on week night, or else just start a whole new game. I could, of course, totally co-opt your Tuesday Night game session, but that might be considered cheeky :)

Thursday?

How about Thursday evenings? At least one of the original playtesters would still be able to make it along, and he's still keen. He told me today that the character generation session was by itself one of the better sessions of an RPG he'd played on ages.

Actually, you know him from the Doomtown days. Andy Cunningham, used to be one of the crowd along with Steve et al.
