About the forum

Welcome to the Collective Endeavour.

This forum aims to offer:

- a warm and friendly yet working atmosphere
- true support for game designers
- a collaborative sharing mentality
- real successful small press experience
- a UK focus but an international point of view

Because of the "friendly working atmosphere", we get by without moderation, much of the time. Here are some points on that:

1. We're about games and the issues connected with publishing and playing. We're not here for socialising and posturing.

2. If you feel a thread has gone off the rails, you're welcome to "moderate" it nicely: "Let's stick to the topic", "Could you start a new thread about that?".

3. If you're the original poster, you're especially welcome to guide and moderate your thread. You can call the thread closed, when you've got all you want out of it.

4. If there are any problems about moderation, start a thread in Administration, rather than discussing it in the thread.

5. Keep to one topic per thread.

a. Sure, you can tangent for a couple of posts ("Hey, Rich, that reminds me, what happened to that thing?", "Oh, this happened. Anyway, back to topic."). After that, take the new topic to a new thread.

b. There's no shame in starting a very short thread, simply to deal with a topic that's come up. "By the way, just to clarify Gumshoe releases: the first system released was Esoterrorists, then Fear Itself, and Trail of Cthulhu is next. The Book Of Unremitting Horror is a sourcebook, released in d20 and Gumshoe versions."
