If you get a post moderated the solution is to be patient. The mods see all the posts that are held in moderation and will activate them with the "Submit Ham" button. That then informs the spam detector to have better detection going forward.

Posting repeatedly in the hope that one gets through might make your account look even more like a spambot.

Currently we have nothing waiting to be hammed, so we're all fine.

No one wants to jazz it with you for reason of your male machine size?

Had this happen the other day and ended up retyping and reposting because the top if the thread with the failure message was quite high up (about Hot War)!

If it makes me one of the gang, then that's okay!

I get the irony in that last post, and doubly for it being marked as spam too.

The general advice for anything marked as spam is just to hold tight. The next time a mod reads it (and that might be longer at a weekend) then they'll "Ham" it. This is the best way for the system to learn the post isn't spam.

Any luck on a more permanent solution Gregor? It's been two weeks of posting and despite you Haming all my comments they are still all marked as spam.

I'm wondering if it is an IP thing, I think it started around the time I started posting from home because of the Christmas break.

We had three in a row from David tonight flagged up as Spam. Any advice?

Akismet says: "It is also possible, from the access control panel, to grant post with no akismet checking permission to user roles of your choice."

Do we have that for role of "Member" and if so can we bump David's account up to that.

Yeah, it might be your sig actually, short posts with majority links are one of the heuristics Akismet uses.
