I was just about to post about this, seeing at I'm organising it and all.

Here's some more blurb:

Go Play Manchester is a monthly meetup for RPGers in Central Manchester.

The thinking behind this is that as nice as browsing the internet, posting on rpg-forums is, at the end of the day Roleplaying games are a face to face over a tabletop pastime.

So if you've dropped out of the hobby or haven't got a group it would be a chance to meet people in existing groups and get in a regular game.

If you have a regular game that is looking for new players it's a chance to play with potential recruits and check that you both get on, before inviting them to your home.

It's also a chance to socialise and play different games. I'll be encouraging GMs to run one shots rather than campaigns, because I don't want the meet up to become closed to new comers as people come a couple of times get intoa cliche and sit with the same people, playing the same campaign everytime. Personally I also like the idea of running one shots because I've lots of games that I haven't time to run with my home group.

Fanboy3 is a great store - a really good gaming space!

The idea has been bouncing round my head for a while.

When I saw the empty back room, which has at least ten 6x4 tables, and had a quick chat to owner Dave and main staffer Phil, both of whom were very enhusastic, I just had to sort it out.

Initially I'll be building up a local attendance , but once we've got a regular crowd I'll be inviting 'Guest GMs' to come along and run stuff. This will involve full publicity and pimpage via the forum before hand.

Off course if you fancy jumping on the train and coming along, Fanboy 3 is straight downhill from Piccadilly Station where the InterCity trains drop off, you be more than welcome!!!

Sadly I can't make it that weekend, but maybe next time? I've been to FB3 before to run Etherscope demos, and Manchester is a mere hour and a half from me by car, so it's a bit of a no brainer in the future!
