Website update

Iain McAllister's picture

Hi guys,

There has been a minor update to the Giant Brain website. Basically some of my friends have been good enough to put in a CMS system to make it easier for me to update. It has also changed the way the main news page looks. Check it out if you are interested in that kind of thing:

[Solipsist] 15-minute demo

Gregor Hutton's picture

Hey All

David and I are working on a 15-minute demo for Solipsist (well, OK, David has done all the hard work so far)... so I thought I would throw it up here. Partly for general feedback and partly as an example in how I see 15-min demos.

I'll go scan the characters in a upload them too...

DAVID WRITES:

Okay, so let's think about this demo scene

Ryan has posted a picture of the tuck box for B-Movie. You can see it over here on the GB forums:

The game should be here very soon.

[Reel Adventures] 15 minute demo

Now I know Reel Adventures is not quite finished but I think putting a demo together for it will help me clarify some things for it and also shine a light on how to put together a demo for games that rely on a lot of creation from the players.

Things that are important to the game are:

1) Players create their own story
2) The role of the nemesis
3) The way threat flows
4) The action system
5) Stakes
6) Setup is really quick
7) It is quick to play
8) The plot device

Historic Games, Prejudice and Modern Sensibilites

Neil Gow's picture

I know I have spoken with some of you about this one-to-one but I want to throw the topic open and see what other people think as well.

Duty & Honour is a game of history and as such the characters and the stories work under different moral code from our modern day sensibilities. Whilst I have no qualms myself regarding this, I'm aware that some people will see prejudice first and game second. The minor issue is religion but the major issue could be race or more specifically nationality.

UK Games Expo: No Taste For Murder

Graham W's picture

A Taste For Murder won't be ready and I'm not going to force it.

I'm happy to either hand over my slot or run one of someone else's games in my slot. I'm noting the following games aren't being run, so they'd be my first choices...

1. Best Friends (if Gregor isn't there, I'll definitely put myself forward to run this)
2. Revenge of the B-Movie (is it out by Games Expo? I can't remember)
3. Contenders (should be run, really).

Is there anything else that really needs to be run?

Graham
